HeyArenal is free and nobody pays to appear in the catalogue. If a business or organisation wants to support the project, with money or in kind, these are the rules. We publish them so anyone can check that support never buys content.
Who supports HeyArenal
Nobody yet: Juan keeps HeyArenal going. When someone supports the project, they will appear here with what they contributed.
The rules
- What we accept
- Contributions in money or in kind. The most helpful are in kind, such as printing QR posters for the directory's businesses, your own photos of the places under a free licence, or time and transport to visit in person the places under review.
- What support never changes
- The catalogue of free places, the plans, the guides and the directory are decided with sources, not support. Nobody pays to appear in the catalogue or to move up a list, and supporters do not review or edit any text. If a supporter is also a business in the directory, it is checked like everyone else.
- Where supporters appear
- On this page and in a strip in the footer, under "With the support of", showing the type of contribution (money or in kind). Never inside place pages, plans or guides.
- What we do not accept
- Support from illegal activities or from activities that put people or nature at risk, such as climbing the volcano's cone, entering restricted areas or feeding or handling wildlife, nor from political campaigns. We may decline or end any support at any time.
- Directory logos are not sponsorship
- Businesses in the directory can show their logo for free if they put up the HeyArenal poster with their own QR code at their premises. It costs no money and does not change the directory's order or its checks.
- How to support
- Write to us with the form below. Juan answers every offer personally.
