Teletica (October 2024) describes San Vicente as a village with natural lookouts "visible from anywhere in the village", cobbled streets and, since mid-2024, a paved road up to its highest point. On clear days you can see four volcanoes: Arenal, Rincón de la Vieja, Miravalles and Tenorio.
It sits at about 1,250 m (ITCR) and it is cold: between 18 °C by day and 12 °C at night, according to the same report. IMN has a live weather station there, handy for checking whether it is clear before you drive up. More in weather.
How to get there
By car, via Ciudad Quesada; according to Teletica, the road is paved up to the highest point of the village.
Permitted access
A rural community with public streets. Farms and tours are private.
